Flyside Hendricks had 70 and Markram was unbeaten at 51 for a 191-5 aggregate. Fast left David Willey led England's attack by 3:25 at Southampton.

England will look to win their first series under new white-ball captain Jos Buttler after equalizing South Africa with a win in 58 runs in Cardiff in three-game competition.

The decision to recall Willey in place of Richard Gleeson was quickly rewarded when he saw the potential danger of Quinton de Kock cutting off his stumps for a three-ball duck.
